This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal contract between you (“you,” “your,” or “Licensee”) and The Homestead Workshop (“we,” “us,” or “the Company”), the maker of the DoorFORGE software gadget (the “Software”).
By downloading, installing, or using the Software — including any free tier — you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not download, install, or use the Software.
1. What you're buying
You are not buying the Software itself. You are buying a license — permission to use the Software under the terms below. We keep ownership of the Software; you get the right to use it.
This applies whether you paid for a license, are using a free tier, or received the Software bundled with a CNC machine or another product from one of our partners. However you obtained it, this Agreement governs your use.
2. Your license
Subject to this Agreement, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- Install and use the Software on the computer(s) you own or control within a single business, consistent with your own licensed copy of the host software.
- Use the Software to design, program, and produce cabinet doors and related work for your own business or your customers.
Free tier. If you are using a free tier (such as the Shaker tier), you receive the same license for the features included in that tier. Paid tiers unlock additional profiles and features. Free tiers are provided as a convenience and their features may change or end at our discretion.
3. What you may not do
You may not:
- Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, give away, share, or otherwise distribute the Software or its files to anyone else.
- Post the Software files publicly, or pass them to another shop or person — one license covers one business.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code, toolpath logic, or profile recipes, except to the limited extent the law does not allow this restriction.
- Remove, hide, or alter any copyright, trademark, or ownership notices.
- Use the Software to operate a service bureau, timesharing service, or similar activity that runs the Software for the benefit of third parties who are not licensed.
- Use the Software to build, train, or assist a competing product.
4. Software you need to run DoorFORGE
DoorFORGE is a gadget that runs inside Vectric's VCarve Pro or Aspire software. It will not run in Desktop, Cut2D, or other versions. You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining your own valid, licensed copy of VCarve Pro or Aspire. We do not provide it.
DoorFORGE is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Vectric Ltd. “Vectric,” “VCarve,” and “Aspire” are trademarks of their respective owner and are used only to describe compatibility. DoorFORGE is built to work on top of VCarve Pro.
5. Who owns what
We own the Software. All rights, title, and interest in the Software — including its code, toolpath engine, profile recipes, and the DoorFORGE name and branding — remain with The Homestead Workshop. Nothing in this Agreement transfers those rights to you.
You own your work. The doors, toolpaths, G-code, and finished products you create using the Software are yours. We claim no rights over what you make with it.
6. Updates and support
We may release updates, new profiles, or new versions from time to time. We are not obligated to provide updates, support, or maintenance, and any that we do provide are governed by this Agreement. We may change or discontinue features, tiers, or the Software itself.
7. No warranty
The Software is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.
The Software generates toolpaths that drive CNC equipment cutting real material. You are responsible for reviewing, simulating, and verifying every toolpath before cutting. Always check depths, tooling, feeds, and speeds, and run a simulation, before running a job on your machine. We are not responsible for the results of any cut.
8. Limit on liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including ruined material, damaged tooling or machines, lost time, or lost profits — arising from your use of or inability to use the Software.
Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you actually paid us for the license giving rise to the claim (which may be zero for a free tier).
9. If this Agreement ends
This Agreement ends automatically if you break any of its terms. When it ends, you must stop using the Software and delete all copies. Sections about ownership, warranty, liability, and governing law survive the end of this Agreement.
10. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin.
11. The whole deal
This Agreement is the entire agreement between you and us about the Software and replaces any earlier understandings. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. We may update this Agreement for future versions or downloads; the version you accepted at install governs your current copy.

When you accept this agreement inside DoorFORGE, the record (version, date, and Windows user name) is stored only on your own computer, in %APPDATA%\DoorFORGE\state.lua. Nothing about your acceptance is transmitted anywhere.
