DoorFORGE at Wood Pro Expo Lancaster, and What ShopSabre Said About It

Two things worth telling you about this month.

ShopSabre put DoorFORGE on their channel

ShopSabre builds CNC routers, and a lot of DoorFORGE customers run one. They posted a short about cutting one-piece MDF doors with DoorFORGE on a ShopSabre, and the gist of it was that the machine's accuracy plus how easy DoorFORGE makes the doors is a business owner's dream. That's a machine builder telling their own customers to use it. I didn't ask them to.

If you run a ShopSabre, nothing special is needed. DoorFORGE is built on top of VCarve Pro, so you design the doors in your browser, import them into VCarve Pro with the toolpaths built, and post to your machine the way you always do.

I'll have the designer running and real doors on the table. Bring a door list from a job you're quoting and we'll run it through on the spot: pick the profiles, type in the sizes, and see the whole job nested on the sheet with the toolpaths built. If you have a question about your own setup, that's the easiest place to get it answered.

One more thing: the lanyard around your neck at the show is ours. So if you lose track of the booth number, look down.

What you need to run DoorFORGE: VCarve Pro, a vacuum hold-down table, and 3/4" MDF. Works in inches or millimeters.

Does DoorFORGE work with a ShopSabre CNC?

Yes. DoorFORGE runs on top of VCarve Pro, so it works with any CNC router that VCarve Pro drives, including ShopSabre machines. ShopSabre has featured DoorFORGE on their own channel.

What CNC do I need to run DoorFORGE?

Any CNC router you run from VCarve Pro, with a vacuum hold-down table. DoorFORGE designs the doors and builds the toolpaths; VCarve Pro posts the code for your machine like any other job.

Is there a free version of DoorFORGE?

Yes. The standard shaker door is free with no account. The full profile library is $499 one-time with a year of updates, or $39 a month, for up to 3 machines.
